I was listening to the radio today after The Tom Joyner Morning Show — and Kim Sellers (or is it Sellas?) read a news report that said some judge was taking away the rights of poor black mothers to name their own children.

So of course I came home and Googled “Judge taking away rights of poor black mothers to name their children” and eventually found this, saying that Condi Rice was trying to remove this Judge Ryan Cabrera — the supposed judge taking away the poor black women’s rights.

But before that, I searched Google News for Ryan Cabrera, and only found stories relating to some celebrity.

Leave it up to Snopes to find the truth, that this whole email thing is a hoax, and that’s why I really hate satire sites like The Onion and Peoples News and the like.

Because even if you stamp “satire” all over the God-forsaken article, people will still think it’s the truth.

Satire is just not funny to me.

But on the real though, I do know some black people who put apostrophes in their kids’ names.
