Marvin Gaye Zeola Gaye Tell All BookI really love Marvin Gaye’s music.

It’s like falling in love with someone who lived almost completely in an era before I was born. But one listen to “Can I Get a Witness?” with its “Listen everybody, especially you girls…Is it right to be left alone when the one you love is never home…” lyrics sends me right there with him.

So I’m excited to learn today, April 2nd — Marvin Gaye’s birthday — that his sister Zeola Gaye is coming out with a new book called “My Brother Marvin” that will explain the mystery surrounding his death.

I don’t see it listed on Amazon yet, but check here for Zeola Gaye books in coming weeks to see if it’s available.

I’ve heard allegations that Marvin was protecting his mother from abuse — now it will be good to hear the real deal.

No matter what, the truth won’t dampen the ethereal feelings I get when I listen to that semi-fast scatting part of Trouble Man:

I’ve heard some places and I’ve seen some places
….When people say; that’s OK, they don’t bother me
I’m ready to make it, don’t care ’bout the weather
Don’t care ’bout no trouble, got myself together…protection’s all around me
