Maya Angelou has a new book homage created by longtime friends — and on April 4th, Angelou will celebrate 80 years on this earth.

Oprah Winfrey, who met Angelou many moons ago when Oprah was just a cub reporter begging the legend for a five minute interview, plans to throw her mentor a birthday bash.

Whether Maya Angelou’s 80th birthday celebration will be as big as the cruise for 150 folks to the Caribbean that Oprah treated a gaggle to a decade ago remains to be seen.
